Earth Day morning, we helped clean up behind a church as neighborhood schoolkids installed a community garden. Buck and Chris removed barbed wire from the top of the border fence.
Maryland Lieutenant Governor Brown came to the site to join in the planting. We learned from him that the founder of Earth Day is from Wisconsin, Lindsay's home state.
Saturday morning, we joined area volunteers for a Tree Baltimore free-tree planting day. Here I am with volunteers James and Mark and a little serviceberry tree we planted in a local resident's front yard.
We headed over to the Loading Dock in the afternoon, where Amanda and Buck had pitchfork fun time.
Happy Earth Week!
