Once we got our uniforms on Tuesday, we felt pretty legit. It was definitely time for a photo shoot.
I begin with the obligatory picture of me wearing my uniform. I'll spend 5 to 6 days each week for the next ten months in this uniform. We have three short-sleeved grey shirts, three long-sleeved, and two pairs each of khaki shorts and khaki pants. For special occasions (e.g. Induction at the end of the month), we have black BDU (battle dress uniform) pants, a grey long-sleeved polo, and a white short-sleeved polo. It's all about representing the NTrip when you're wearing the A.
Here's my roommate Rene rocking her shorts and fisherman's hat.
The same evening we got our uniforms, a few friends came over and we honored the occasion with a gangsta photo.
We later headed to the Wolf Den, where we found Melissa, our friendly house mom, on duty. Her uniform is the TL green.
On Thursday, we ventured out into the snow to shovel out the govie (the AC version of government) vans. Our house was powered up and ready to go.
It snowed quite a bit here at the Point. Those cars that didn't get moved before the storm have a fair amount of shoveling to do before they'll be ready to drive.
Other than that, the first day of true training went great. Tomorrow, some of us will be headed out into the streets of Perryville to help shovel sidewalks around town for our first ISP. Lots of fun!
